Las Canoas Road

This project served as the first phase of a larger master plan for the property. The Rattlesnake Canyon setting brought an important safety concern for the clients’ children and beloved Labrador dogs, so rattlesnake barriers were integrated into the perimeter fence design with protection extending both above and below ground. The slope of the property left little usable space for play and everyday outdoor living. Natural sandstone boulders helped create a large terrace with room for lawn and an outdoor gym, along with a sauna and cold plunge. In the planting areas, gravel and decomposed granite were used as a practical response to the property’s high fire hazard location.
