El Faro

The clients wanted to lower their monthly water bill and were open to seeing the possibilities for their front yard. Xeriscape became the direction, with a flagstone path and seating area shaping the design. The entire lawn was removed, and in its place, we installed a kidney-bean shaped artificial turf area to brighten the space. Downspout stormwater flows were directed into a functional dry creek for infiltration. Mojave Gold gravel was chosen for the groundcover, with gold and gray tones that complement the stones and boulders in the dry creek. The planting areas include agave species, Juncus and Lomandra grasses, Anigozanthos Kangaroo Paws, and a variety of succulents. The final touch was a flagstone-stamped concrete driveway with a curved entry path for added curb appeal. Happy clients with a much smaller water bill!
